SPOKANE, WA (June 12, 2008) - In addition to setting a tournament and world record for Hoopfest 2008, the 3-on-3 basketball tournament has four days of activities and entertainment lined up for the 25,000 players and 200,000 fans who will make a $30 million impact on Spokane June 26-29. Kicking off the weekend will be the Scion Hoopfest Pre-Funk Community Concert presented by Scion, 92.9 Zzu, Spokane's River 99.9, Rock 94 ½, and Wired 96.9. This FREE concert will feature an entire afternoon and evening of LIVE music in Riverfront Park's Lilac Bowl. The concert will begin at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26 and will feature artists The Blisstrz, One Block Radius (Property Music Group), Eric Hutchinson (Warner Brothers), Tyga (RED Entertainment), Adrian (Asylum Records), Royal Bliss (Contraband Music Group), X Levitation Cult (Contraband Music Group), and Australia's sensation Delta Goodrem (Mercury/Decca Records). The event is FREE and will be a great way to get your groove on for Hoopfest weekend!

Nike Center Court: Opening ceremonies 7:45 a.m. Nike Center Court, televised locally on "Hoopfest TV" over the air on KXLY 4-2 and Comcast Digital 114 and also streaming LIVE by KXLY.com, will host Action Sportswear Elite Division games and entertainment. At 12:30 p.m., the U.S. Air Force presents the Women's Slam Dunk Contest, followed by the Men's Slam Dunk Contest at 1:00 p.m.
Dairy Farmer's of Washington Youth Center Court: The Sea Gals will perform at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. High School Elite games will be played throughout the day along with local entertainment. 2007 NBA Rookie of the Year, Brandon Roy: AT&T presents Brandon Roy, the 2007 NBA Rookie of the Year. Roy will be signing autographs at the AT&T Hoopshoot in Riverfront Park's Clocktower Meadow.

Nike Center Court: "Hoopfest TV" continues broadcasting all day from Nike Center Court aired locally over the air on KXLY 4-2 and Comcast Digital 114 and also streaming LIVE by KXLY.com. Highlights include the Women's Elite Division Championship and State Farm Final Four semi-finals. The best of the best culminates in the Men's 6' & Under and Men's Over 6' Action Sportswear Elite Championship games beginning at 5:30 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. These games will be televised LIVE by KXLY ABC 4 during its Hoopfest Special.

About Hoopfest: Hoopfest will be taking to the streets of downtown Spokane on June 28 & 29. Team registration is now closed and Hoopfest will have a world record turnout for this year's tournament! Conducting Hoopfest requires over 3,000 volunteers each year. There are needs for all kinds of volunteers who can still register online at spokanehoopfest.net.
